A friend (M3 / Jet Black and 18" wheels) came to visit and to check out my new M3.
We then took a long trip in my beauty thru the twisty German countryside.

Today was the day I decided to put on my winter rims/tires. They are Ronal R7 8.0 x 18'' alloys mounted with Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW3 225/40 R18 92V XL. The alloy rims cost me $140 and the tires $198 each. I didn't buy the rims for looks in the first place but after seeing them on the car I do like'em more than I had thought.

2 years ago today I picked up my brand new E46 M3. After 39503 km's (24690 miles) on it's back and I couldn't be more happier with it. It's been a blast to drive and has never disappointed me. I'm looking forward to driving my favorite car for the next coming years!

I never thought I'd do it but I did. I installed my second mod on my M3. First time I saw the CSL I new I wanted that diffuser. Well, after a years searching I finally found one and it's an original CSL part too - eBay made it possible :-) I was lucky to get the diffuser for only 281 Euros (BMW wants 680 Euros!) and in black. I had the diffuser painted carbon black to match my car and today under blues skies I removed the old and mounted the new. Doesn't it look great :-)

Today I installed my 3rd mod - the "Gizmo" from Ground Control. It replaces the OEM screen in the air box and is suppose to give more airflow to the engine. I paid $75 shipping included and thought I'd give it a try since I could remove it just as easily as I mounted it with no big financial lose :-)
After the install I immediately went for a "hot" 24 mile drive. First thing I noticed was no change when the engine was idling. That's good because some folks have reported rough idling. Some suggested the engine computer would need to be reset by BMW. I then went on a spirited drive through the German county side and then on the Autobahn. Again no side effects were detected. However I could not notice anything different so I guess the changes, if any, are minimal.
Since no changes where felt I did not see the need to have it so I sold it a couple of months later to a buyer from Canada.
Side note: On the Autobahn I had passed a Porsche Boxter quiet swiftly which he didn't seem to like. He then caught up on me while I was stuck in traffic and tried to keep up with me when the left lane was free again :-)
I also noticed on the test run that while in 5th gear you will hit the rev limiter and not the speed limiter :-D
